Welcome to the joint website of the APSA Political Communication section and the ICA Political Communication division!

The American Political Science Association (APSA), founded in 1903, is the leading professional organization for the study of political science and serves more than 13,000 members in more than 80 countries. With a range of programs and services for individuals, departments, and institutions, APSA brings together political scientists from all fields of inquiry, regions, and occupational endeavors within and outside academe to deepen our understanding of politics, democracy, and citizenship throughout the world.

The International Communication Association (ICA), founded in 1950, is an academic association for scholars interested in the study, teaching, and application of all aspects of human and mediated communication. ICA began more than 60 years ago as a small association of U.S. researchers and is now a truly international association with more than 4,000 members from about 80 countries. Since 2003, ICA has been officially associated with the United Nations as a non-governmental association (NGO).
